Selena Gomez, an actress and singer who is well-known internationally. The Disney series Wizards of Waverly Place is one of her best-loved shows. Her real name is Selena Marie Gomez. Selena Marie Gomez was born Grand Prairie, Texas on the 22, 1992. Amanda Cornett and Ricardo Gomez were the parents of Selena. Selena was the very first child of her mother who was barely sixteen when she reached the age Selena. When she was 9 was offered her very first job in show business by being offered the part of Gianna as Gianna in Barney and her Friends. This meant she was among several children to play with Barney, the infamous anthropomorphic pink dinosaur. Selena performed on a variety of episodes in season 7 and 8 from 2001 and 2003. Interesting fact: Demi Lovato, who was part of Barney's Friends in the same time period also, was a co-star with Selena. Selena Gomez tried out for several roles after she left Barney and the Friends, but she was unsuccessful. Her role was a little smaller as a character in Mini Spies 3 (Spy Kids 3D Game Over) in 2003, and an additional role in 2004 as Julie in Walker Texas Ranger Trial by Fire. She was also cast in the role of Emily Grace Garcia, a person she wrote a musical for in 2006's Brain Zapped.
